Now that the temperatures are starting to cool a little, festivals are more prevalent again, with September being a busy month for festival goers. There are a couple of festivals coming up, which I thought you might be interested in – A Welsh Festival and an Irish Festival!

North American Festival of Wales

This weekend through September 4, 2022

First up, we have the North American Festival of Wales, held in Philadelphia over the next few days - August 31 - September 4, 2022.

This festival celebrates all things Welsh with many competitions (with cash prizes) including A Poetry Composition Competition (in either Welsh or English), Stage Competitions including Hymn Singing, Recitation in either Welsh or English, Visual Arts, and even a Limerick Composition Competition.

31st Annual Pittsburgh Irish Festival

September 9-11, 2022

Next up, we have the 31st Annual Pittsburgh Irish Festival, coming up on September 9-11, 2022.
The entertainment lineup here includes Gaelic Storm, the Screaming Orphans, Runa, the Friel Sisters, the Bow Tides and the Real Irish Comedy Tour!
Cultural events include Discover your Irish Family Tree, Hedge School, Irish Cuisine, Celtic Beverages, Dance and Music performances and an Irish Mass on Sunday!

As this one conflicts with our local festival - the Covenanter Scottish Festival and Highland Games - we won't be there, but for those who do - it should also be fun!
