This Celtic pewter hair clip was expertly crafted in Cornwall (one of the lesser known Celtic Nations). Two ovals are joined together by a delightful Celtic knot, somehow making this hair slide both dramatic and elegant at the same time.
Pewter does have a little bit of weight, so this hair clasp tends to work best in thick or curly hair.

Dating to to about 600 AD, we photographed this Ogham stone in Kilmalkedar Church, on the Dingle peninsular, in Co. Kerry. on our last trip to Ireland. The ogham carving reads "ẠṆM MẠỊLE-INBIR/ MACI BROCANN" - "Name of Máel-Inbher son of Broccán"
