I love the simplicity of these Sterling Silver Triskele Earrings. The Triskele is a very popular Celtic symbol, almost as well known as the Trinity Knot. Like the Trinity, it also comprises of three parts in one (the number 3 was very important to the Celts).

The Triskele, Triskelion or Triple Spiral is an ancient Celtic symbol. It adorns the entrance stone of Newgrange, Ireland. Newgrange is an ancient passage tomb, older than the pyramids! The most common interpretation for this symbol is as a representation of The Mother Goddess, with a spiral each for The Maiden, The Mother and The Crone (wise old woman). This, however, is just one of many interpretations eg life-death-rebirth, earth-water-sky, spirit-mind-body.  As this symbol predates writting, we will never know for sure, what its original meaning was.It looks cool though!
