Branston Pickle is a very popular relish back on our side of the pond. It is a mixture of pickled vegetables, which are blended with various spices, in a thick brown sauce. Its taste is quite unique, and it is as popular now, as it was back when it was first manufactured, in 1922.
My husband loves this with a Ploughman’s Lunch (Cold Meats, Cheeses and a hunk of Crusty Bread) or a Cheese Toastie (Grilled Cheese sandwich). It brings a sandwich to a whole new level, with the satisfying crunch of vegetables, and tangy sweet sauce.
