Royal Celtic Beasts - Dark Green T-Shirt

The shirt's design is a Celt Wares Original! The T-Shirt is Full Color ink, on a pre-shrunk, 100% cotton, super soft cotton tee.

There is an Irish Legend about a line of Kings who could turn themselves into Wolves - The Ossory Werewolves. The banner of Osraí was a wolf’s head.  The kingdom of Ossory (or Osraí), is now Co. Laois and Co. Kilkenny.

When the Irish monks wrote down the oral histories of the druids, they recorded that a line of kings starting from the first King of Osraí, could change into wolf form. In this guise, they would then raid the territories of their enemies.

There is a 13th century poem, about men who were able to change into wolves, leaving their vulnerable human form behind. Their bodies were not to be disturbed while they were gone, as otherwise they would not be able to find their way back, and would be cursed to live out their lives in wolf form.

The Royal Beasts on this t-shirt is based on this legend, albeit with the wolves in a more docile looking form, as they are among friends, not enemies.
