This cross is a replica of a Pictish cross. The Picts were very early Scots and there are very few artifacts remaining from their time. This cross is dedicated to "Constantine, son of Fergus", one of the last Kings of the Picts, before their assimilation into Alba (Scotland) in 843.
The Dupplin cross is a finely detailed carved cross, approximately 1,200 years old and reaching almost 9ft high. It resides in St. Serf's Church, in Dunning, Scotland. It's carvings include knotwork and Celtic spirals and a figure on horseback, assumed to be Constantine himself.
This finely detailed replica is made from Stainless Steel, which is sturdy and shines beautifully (without the need to polish, just an occasional buffing with a soft cloth).
