The Quaich is a two handled shallow toasting or drinking cup which nowadays is used to toast a Celebration such as a Scottish Wedding or a Burns Night (celebrating Robert Burns, the national poet of Scotland.  By the way, Did you know that this Scots Bard penned Auld Lang Syne?).

This Quaich is handmade in Scotland and features a Celtic Knot design.  A Celtic Knot has no beginning or end and therefore represents eternity. The handles of this Quaich are adorned with Trinity Knots.  The Trinity Knot is the most well known of the Celtic Knots.  The modern interpretation of the Trinity is of the Blessed Trinity, however this was not the original meaning, as the Celts were Pagans.  The Celts also had a Triune God - The Mother Goddess (representing the three stages of womanhood - The Maiden, The Mother and the Crone or Wise Old Woman.)

While this wee quaich is not big enough to share a decent sized drink, it sure is a bonnie quaich!

Design features of this Pewter Quaich are:

  • Made in Scotland
  • Quaich measures appox. 3" including handles
  • Bowl Measures approx. 2"
  • Gift Boxed

Testimonials

"They had a stand at the Celtic Festival and all the other vendors were closing up because of the heat and leaving. This stand stayed open and was very pleasant to deal with. She couldn't of helped me out more! I highly recommend them and would like to visit their actual location."
