The Celtic Cross is one of the oldest Christian symbols in Ireland and have been carved in stone, as free-standing and richly decorated high crosses, from at least as far back as the 8th century.
It is said that St. Patrick (the patron saint of Ireland) created the Celtic Cross in Ireland as one of his methods to convert "us pagans" to Christianity. He is said to have drawn a cross on an image of the Sun God, linking the importance of the Christian Cross with the importance of the Sun God.
This beautiful pendant is further enhanced with the symbol of the Blessed Trinity, representing The Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost (Spirit).
